Shoes: $23 [Urbanog]

Handbag: $40 [6pm]

I honestly believe a shoe and handbag are major factors when creating a look. I could have worn a white t shirt with black denim skinny jeans with these shoes and bag and still pulled off a really cute look. It doesn’t take much money, matching, of effort to create a cute chic look. I cannot emphasize this enough. Let’s see some of your chic looks..

So I was officially the winner of a Chanel Giveaway thanks to wordsnpaint . I never win anything so I was beyond excited to receive these goodies. The goody box consisted facial products and a cool neutral toned mascara. I wore the mascara over the weekend and immediately fell in love with it. Thanks again Joy! This has definitely put me in the giveaway spirit..stay tuned.

0a639a1123c1afde0430c5db3bb71780                      I feel like the older I get, the more my life seems so repetitive. I wake up at the same time every morning. I get to work around the same time every morning. I do the same thing, the same way EVERYDAY in my work routine. I have begun to workout on a regular basis, which put a little excitement in my daily routine (sad at the excitement part, but true). I go home, cook dinner (definitely not every night, salads are my best friend), do homework, either watch television or read, have a glass of wine and I’m out like a light! What happened to the days of my life where I was so outgoing and active?

Has this meme I stole off of Pinterest just justified that I am officially a 28 year old boring fart? Boredom for me is at an all time high. There are so many things to do, so many places to go, and so many things to see. So what’s my problem? Me, I am my problem. When going out and having fun, I automatically associate it with friends. If I am so damn bored and complaining about it like a child, what will I do about it?

I will start to enjoy myself solo dolo. I love my friends but they aren’t always available or into the things I’m into so why not do things solo for a change. This summer, I have decided to make myself a “Solo-dolo Bucket List”. A list of things to do whenever this newly found boredom strikes. This is gonna be a pretty sick wave to follow as I have never done anything like this before. Well here’s a short list of things I will be doing this summer that I have never done alone before. (DISCLAIMER!!!! This post has absolutely nothing to do with loneliness because I am far from lonely, it has everything to do with experience!) Just thought I’d throw that out there.

  1. Go to the movies alone.
  2. Dress up formally and treat myself to a fancy dinner.
  3. Travel alone for a weekend.
  4. Complete a DIY project.
  5. Enjoy a SPA day.
  6. Go somewhere and people watch.
  7. Drive around, find, and eat at a restaurant I’ve never been to.
  8. Have a picnic at the park
  9. Go to Happy Hour
  10. Go to a museum

I will try and document my entire “solo dolo” journey so stay tuned!

IMG_0953IMG_0947IMG_0963So let me tell you about this simple yet bright, super cute dress that I found. It is very rare that I will go to a shopping mall because there are always too many people and it takes me forever to find something that I like. I am a loyal and dedicated online shopper. Well, I just so happened to go to a shopping mall to help my sister look for a birthday outfit. I stumbled upon this dress in Charlotte Russe hanging on a clearance rack for $20. Mind you, the dress is a size small. Usually, I can barely even fit one leg or even my head into a small anything. I said what they hey, this is too cute not to at least try on. It fit! The clouds above opened and God shined his light on me in that fitting room. It was a match made in heaven. So yeah, I wore it to a wedding this past weekend and loved it. It doesn’t take $100 to find and rock cute fashion.

Dress: $20 (Charlotte Russe)

Clutch: $5 (Thrift Store)

Shoes: $25 (GoJane)

I wish I could have captured a picture of all of my looks but honestly and sadly to say, blogging was one of the last  things on my mind with everything else going on. I ‘ll do better next time. That is a promise!

IMG_4961My trip to Cancun can be summed up in two words, a “beautiful disaster”. Let me explain…so coming to this trip I previously knew two out of the four girls. I love meeting new people but as any normal person would be, I was a little nervous living with two complete strangers for an entire week. Well let me tell you, I would not have chosen any other group of girls to be on this  trip with. The universe just seemed to form a connection between all of us and I felt as if I had known these girls for years.

Cancun is a very beautiful place and the beaches are breath taking. We prepared an itinerary for this trip and was able to complete just about everything on it. In the midst of each excursion we seemed to face some sort of difficulties, such as going on a boat tour completely different from the one we thought we booked. I had not had that much fun in a very long time. Everything that could have been disastrous turned out to be beautiful in its own way.

Everything just seemed so bright and vibrant. The bright colors in a way overshadowed how poor of a country Mexico really is. The people were all in such good spirits and very friend and family oriented. We did not only tour the touristy part of Mexico, but some of the local parts as well. I cannot tell you how many times I thanked God while out there. Experiencing a completely different culture makes you appreciate all that you have. I will definitely work on taking things for granted after this experience.C360_2016-05-05-22-06-42-91420160504203651_IMG_0318 I had much time to relax and reflect. Simplicity, that is all..have a fantastic day.

Today is March the 31st, not too many days away from my week long vacation to Cancun, Mexico. I am beyond excited! The thought of traveling always puts me in a happy place. Seeing things I have never seen, eating food I have never eaten, and experiencing a lifestyle that is not my own. I am from California, so I live for a good beach. I can not wait to feel the warm sand between my toes, the warmth of the sun beaming on my skin, and the soothing taste of a strawberry margarita. I’m really freaking going to Cancun!!

Growing up as a young girl in Oakland, Ca, the idea of traveling seemed like just a dream. I used to think  celebrities and people with a ton of money were the only ones who could afford to travel. Little did i know right? That is the result of never being able to leave the state or even see anyone else around you leave the state you were born in. Well guess what people, this Oakland girl has worked her butt off, got a damn passport and  will be making this the first stamp of many.

I have pretty much did all of the online shopping a girl could do for the past 2 months in preparation for this trip. Of course I only bought things which were on clearance or had a “too good to pass up” price. If you follow my blog, you should know how frugal I am by now (that’s how I have extra money to attention).

I will not take credit for this photo as I have snagged it from pinterest, but you get the idea. This picture is a summary of what my life will look like for the duration of my trip. Can anyone tell how excited I am? No? Not yet? Okay well I  think I could do a better job with that, let me flip this switch really quick…

Lol!!! (I am so corny and I love it!) Happy Thursday everyone. I will leave with this, no matter where you come from or what you may be accustomed to, if there is a will, there is a way. Go somewhere you have never been before. The experience will be mind blowing, I promise!! Peace, love, and happiness…Stay tuned and ride this Cancun wave with me as it approaches.

20160304044717_IMG_004020160304044313_IMG_002520160304044421_IMG_0030Most people have casual Fridays at work, well me, I have the ability to dress causally any day of the week..lucky me! This post is for, well anybody really, but for those who may get one day of the week to dress causal. I chose to wear this denim blazer that I lucked up on at a thrift store (my happy place). I am wearing a plain grey top with a plain black bandage skirt, and some plain black tights. Of course I am always finding a way to incorporate a sense of “pop” to an outfit, so I decided to wear  these loud gold, but super cute and super comfortable, huarache Nike shoes. 20160304044546_IMG_003420160304044434_IMG_003120160304044606_IMG_0037I am a little on the curvy side, so wearing the skirt without the tights was definitely not an option and wearing the tights with nothing to cover that backside of mine was also definitely not an option. Pairing the two worked perfectly. Keep it casual and cute, but at work especially, keep it professional. I hope this outfit idea works for someone. Have a beautiful, amazing day and remember to smile!!20160304044200_IMG_002020160304044219_IMG_0022
